We are Abby and Ella Hanson, two young Gaels with a passion for sharing our heritage. We have been involved for over a decade with our Gaelic community here in the Halifax region as well as in Cape Breton and Scotland. Both of us fiddle, play piano, and are fluent in the Gaelic language; Abby also loves singing in Gaelic and Ella enjoys step dancing. We have performed on stages big and small, including graduation ceremonies, weddings, church services, festivals, ceilidhs, square dances, and pubs.

 

We spent years travelling to the Gaelic College in Cape Breton to take part in Na Gaisgich Òga, a Gaelic Mentorship program, run by Colaisde na Gàidhlig, in partnership with Iomairtean na Gàidhlig/Gaelic Affairs. Part of the mission of Na Gaisgich Òga is for participants to demonstrate a commitment to Gaelic language and culture in Nova Scotia and we are determined to do our best!
